One of the reasons we wanted to start this website was to create a hub for what is, let’s face it, a fairly fragmented space on the Internet. And while Google is not a bad starting point, we thought we could save people some time and elbow grease by aggregating the best web sites to check out if you are in the market to buy vintage tools. So if you look below the contact information on the right-hand side of the page, you’ll see three dropdown menus, one of which says “Shopping.” If you open that, you’ll see a list of three dozen active sellers that we’ve visited recently. As with anything, buyer beware, but most of these folks have been at it for a while and have pretty clear disclosures and standards about how they do business. Not to play favorites, but the website for Falcon-Wood in Berkshires probably wins the most points for having a clean, easily-navigable design. They are all worth checking out though, for sure! Also, please let us know if you have suggestions for sites that should be added to the list.
